Hey hey chaps, hope you’re all dandy and shiny.

Now that the sparkle of Sunday has worn off it’s time to start thinking about getting on with preparing for the rest of this summer’s running. My next event is the Gateshead 10K on 3rd July, and it’ll be my third time taking part. I love this event; it’s just across the river and after the halfway point the local firemen spray you down with a hose. Yay!

I went for a three mile “It’s good to be home” run yesterday, and was a little faster than I should have been for a recovery run, but I was having fun and reigned it in a little for the third mile. I’ve also done a couple of indoor rides on Bikey, and started to reincorporate core strength and basic upper body work into my routine. It helps that I’m off work this week 😀

Snappyshotty: Lots of lines and a worrying hole in the path.

Mind your Step

The other day I started reading The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery, and I’m enjoying it. It seems to be one of those books that people either really enjoy, or find pretentious and give scathing one-star reviews on GoodReads. I can’t make a final judgement just yet seeing as I’m only halfway through, but I’ve always had a fondness for characters with secrets who observe so I’m having a good time with it for now.

So aye. Keeping on, keeping those muscles moving 🙂
